Accessing the network

You will be asked to fill in some paperwork prior to using the College resources. You will need to change your computer name and provide your MAC address. The MAC address is a unique_ identifier used by the network when it communicates with other networked devices. You will be required to install software associated with our College filtering systems. St Patrick’s College reserves the right to maintain control over its Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) which will involve:
  • compiling a list of authorised users and their devices
  • logging and monitoring traffic across the WLAN
  • disabling devices/denying  access to devices that are adversely affecting network performance.
  • disabling devices/denying access to devices where there is a concern of duty of care for a student's welfare.
